DEPENDANT’S PASS (DP) & LONG TERM VISIT PASS (LTVP)

1. Introduction to Dependant’s Pass (DP) and Long Term Visit Pass (LTVP)

The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) issues Dependent’s Passes (DP) to dependents of eligible work pass holders, while the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) typically issues Long-Term Visit Passes (LTVP) to dependents of eligible Singapore citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents.

2. Eligibility for DP and LTVP

DPLTVP

To qualify for a DP:
∙ The main pass holder must be earning a fixed monthly salary of at least SGD 6,000.
∙ The dependant must be a legally married spouse or unmarried child under 21, including legally adopted children.
∙ The employer or authorised employment agent must apply on the dependant’s behalf.
You may apply for the LTVP if you fall into one of the following categories and have a local sponsor (typically a Singapore Citizen or PR):
∙ Spouse of a Singapore Citizen or PR
∙ Unmarried child under 21 years of a Singapore Citizen or PR
∙ Parent of a Singapore Citizen or PR
∙ Graduate from a local institute seeking employment
∙ Parent or grandparent of a foreign student in Singapore
∙ Foreign visitor intending to give birth in Singapore

Eligibility is assessed based on factors like relationship with the sponsor, duration of stay, and ability to support oneself.

3. Application Process

DPLTVP
The employer or agent of the main pass holder submits the application online through MOM’s e-Service.

If approved, an In-Principle Approval (IPA) letter is issued.

Upon arrival in Singapore, the dependant may be required to register their fingerprints and photograph before receiving the physical pass card.
Step 1: Check your eligibility. Spouses of Singapore Citizens are encouraged to complete the free  Pre-Marriage LTVP Assessment (PMLA).
Step 2: Prepare required documents.
Step 3: Submit your application via ICA’s e-Service. Singpass is required for login.
Step 4: Pay the application fee.
Step 5: Wait for processing and outcome notification.

All applications must be submitted online through ICA’s portal. Upon approval, applicants will receive an  In-Principle Approval (IPA) letter. Depending on the case, you may need to attend an appointment at ICA. Passes are now issued digitally and can be accessed via Singpass or ICA’s FileSG platform.
